![]() Try to do some metagame testing to get a feel for your deck so you can talk about it better. People are not here to critique the brew you slapped together with zero thought. Please, make sure you include a description of what your deck is, what it intends to do, and specific questions that stimulate conversation. When posting deck lists, it is generally preferred that you link to a deck building site such as or something similar. Please do not try and sell cards or decks within this subreddit.Īll we ask is that before you post, do some research yourself to try to find the answer to your query. I got a good deal on this disc, but for a Todd/Utopia fan, it's worth twice that, easily. This subreddit is for players of any level of experience to discuss any topics regarding the Modern format, whether it is decks that pro's have been winning with, metagame discussion, card discussion, or home brews. It makes me wish that MFSL had done all of them (or at least Ra, Adventures, and Swing). The MFSL of Oops not only puts the Rhino disc to shame, it easily destroys every other Todd or Utopia CD I have heard. ![]() Killer stuff, and his solo at the end of The Marriage of Heaven and Hell is now, finally, to die for.įinal thoughts (for now): Every Todd/Utopia fan who wants their work on CD must get this disc. Also, the aggression is finally there in his tone on the rockers, and the ballads are now wistful instead of whiny, all because of that same difference in the guitar tone (I now wonder if he used the late Ankh for the recording?). First of all, Todd's guitar no longer sounds thin (or ear-piercing like the remasters), but again, just natural. The way that final note lingers on the MFSL gives me goosebumps. the bass: it's not only slightly boosted (something the original Rhino badly lacked and the remasters overkilled on), it is actually cleaner and more natural sounding! Example: the final note Kasim plays in Crazy Lady Blue (the note that lingers as the song ends). It repeatedly brought a smile to my face. I listened to it in the car, got home before the disc ended, shut the engine off and listened to the rest without leaving the car. ![]() Sonic details: In virtually every song the MFSL reveals new things that are just buried on the Rhino. The MFSL is also not bright at all, I actually ended up slightly cranking the treble for some of the guitar solos.Ĥ. The remasters crank it like it's Van Halen. EQ: more bass on the MFSL (as usual) - but - compared to the hack jobs that the recent Utopia remasters are, it is just a slight, tasteful increase. But on the MFSL the music overcomes the tape warts!!!ģ. Yes, I can still tell that the source material isn't great. I turned it up to ear bleeding levels, and it still sounded amazing. The MFSL will be limited only by your system. But, the Rhino eventually gets muddy when cranked. All of the things that I felt were lacking on the Rhino are there on the MoFi. The MFSL sounds like what I wanted the Rhino disc to be. I know the Rhino CD like the back of my hand.ġ. I finally pulled the trigger on the MFSL of "Oops" after having lived with the Rhino disc for a long time. But I just can't wait to share this though - especially since I haven't been able to find this info elsewhere. I still have to finally download the program to rip both discs and compare all the numbers, so that's coming over the weekend (to be posted in this thread).
